Mickey has led many award-winning projects in various building types, with large and complex programs requiring the leadership of numerous team members and multiple contributors. Her projects have included an airport expansion, large hotels, office towers, a vertical college campus, and research laboratories. She is dedicated to delivering excellence by incorporating building program requirements into clear strategic direction and design concepts. As a senior leader in the firm, she oversees the design quality and assures that the team executes on time and within budget.
Mickey's lifelong dedication to sustainable design is a cornerstone of her work. As a LEED-accredited professional, she is a vocal advocate for sustainable design principles, actively promoting the use of locally native plants and trees. Her passion for the environment is evident in her work and her efforts to inspire others to consider the environmental impact of building. In addition to her focus on sustainable design, Mickey has a keen interest in the effects of zoning on our cities and towns. Her years of service as a planning commission and zoning board member have given her valuable insights into the challenges of urban growth.
Mickey holds a Bachelor of Architecture with High Honors and a Master of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. She also studied architecture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Versailles, France.
