Tower Cathedral
The proposal envisions a single super tall sanctuary space, solid in the front and glass in the main body of the cathedral. Geometric progressions on the facade interlace the solid, and the transparent and long spikes separate from the surface at various points to capture or reflect light. The structure reinforces this duality with concrete used in the solid section and steel used in the glass section, each supporting the other. A unique impression of this immense space is formed by sound dissipating vertically into the two bell towers with moderate reverberation. Sponsor: Gwenda Jay Gallery, Chicago
