Drawings for Vukovar War Memorial, Croatia

Not since World War II has a European town experienced such destruction as the beautiful Baroque city of Vukovar. The three-month siege during the Homeland War in 1991 killed 1264 defenders and civilians. These three studies are for a memorial dedicated to those who died and the history and culture they were defending. All three studies explore polyhedral forms with the Cross symbol revealed by the fractured stone's edges.
